Wow! Good on you mate! Thats awesome. Ive gone two weeks so far with no booze or sugar. Not easy.

Hmm not me. Im doing Dry July so its only for this month. I started early so I can finish before the snow trip... Lol.
But we'll see after this what happens whether I stay off or not. I have a drink every night, just a glass or two of wine, not much, but thats what I grew up with. Italian family, my dad would have a glass or two of red every night, now I do it.

I think the hardest part is breaking habits. I used to always have a beer when I got home from work and that was a hard habit to break.
Worst one for me though was eating while watching TV. Kept telling myself I was hungry when really I was bored. Now I will go for a walk or read something instead.

No booze & no sugar ?! Kill me now . You must have your reasons & good on you for doing it. When I split up with my 1st missus I got blind drunk a few times - it doesn't fix any problems but it gives your head a break from dealing with it all for a few hrs , then I made a decision to stop drinking all together - I had a fair bit going on so needed a clear head , not that I drank much anyway just 1 or 2 stubbies a night but if I didn't stop I think I would've gone the other way & just drank all the time . Had about 3 months off it & felt great . Was bloody hard because I was working away at the time & living with a heap of blokes in a house just up the rd from the pub , we'd have tea their most nights but I just drank lemonade . Once I got things sorted I went back to 1 or 2 a night .

Mudrunner- via Rosedale is probably the simplest way to Heyfield so I'd go with that , it'll be a steady trip to Licola if your kids get car sick - 10mins out of Heyfield it gets very windy all the way to Licola - with a couple of short straight sections along the way . It's about 45 mins from Heyfield to Licola .

Hey Winnie, can you bring evidence that your club got quoted a cheap price mate, I think no one should pay until the price is locked down, there seems to be a number of different figures.
Note also, last year the room I had had no real heater, I bought a small blow heater with me. Everyone should bring a heater. My room also Had No PowerPoint! I recommend a short extension lead each and a power board if you want to charge your phones and run the heater.

i think they may have updated their pricing structure since the last time someone visited, the prices are listed on their website and it mentions new prices as of 1 january 2016
http://www.licola.org.au/
it does say there are discounts for group bookings though, would you like me to ring up and ask what qualifies for a group booking?

I just spoke to my mate who is going with another big group this weekend and he said they were told the prices had gone up and it's now $44 per person as well.

It's pretty straight forward Chappy - follow the hwy through Rosedale - out over the long bridge then at The top of the hill turn left and follow that road straight to Heyfield , when they come up into the town they will come to a round about & be looking at the timberline service station , veer up the left side of the servo - that's Licola Rd . its about 40-50 mins from the servo to Licola . Just follow the signs to Licola / Jamieson , They'll come over a bridge into Licola & immediately off the bridge turn left into the 'wilderness park' , look for the biggest fire - that'll be us .

No dramas mate, the timberline at Heyfield will be the last fuel/shop at the time of night they'll be going through , Licola will be open during normal business hours on the weekend . The rd to Licola is Very windy with sheer drop offs on the side - so tell them to take their time because if they run off the road we'd be lucky to find them in the daylight let alone the dark

It was an Awesome cook up by Mark! I'm not into seafood but I smashed out a bowl! Was great! Saw a few chomping into some for lunch again today in dinner rolls. Smelled awesome.
Was an awesome trip. Been home about an hour. Not many pics here but had a great weekend.we got into a good amount of snow for the kids to play yesterday and there are some epic videos of jumping Taboggins somewhere. I think Chappy might have them. We had to clear a huge tree yesterday to get into our lunch spot for playing in the snow and this meant virgin snow fir a bit on the other side of the tree. Was a great day.
Half the crew are there another night tonight.
The 5 houses were great along with the communal kitchen and fire pit which works fantastic for our group. Everyone had a great time.
We have booked the same 5 houses again for next year already. Great trip.

Yeah that little chainy did well on that tree. Btw was the largest tree of the forrest that had to fall across the road.
It was a fantastic weekend. A big thanks to AB for making this happen. The kids had a ball. I never got to sample MB's cook up. Bloody smelt it though and tgst was awesome. I was kinda pre occupied with four rug rats for a few hours. Was fun.
I cant wait until next years event. We will be making it a longer stay next time though.

It was an awesome weekend and a good first trip for my new GQ. It was really good to meet everyone and i'm looking forward to the next one! I managed to run out of fuel on the way home and burn out my fuel pump, but was still driveable so I made it home safe and sound!

We have booked the same 5 houses again for next year already.
Looks like an enjoyable weekend was had by all. MB your starting to get a name for these famous cook ups.
Had a look at the calendar and I'm rostered on that weekend. 🤔
Better stop taking A/L and save some.
Crap. Just realised that my son will have his Ls by then and I'm gonna be kicked out of the drivers seat.... O well I'll drink up and the wife can sit next to him, ha that will be interesting, dad what do I do to get 4wd mum doesn't know.....
Anyway looking forward to the tone of pics..

Good to see the pots and pans from Pentridge being put to good use.
These older style come in sizes up to 9 gallon and reasonably cheap.
They come in cast iron or vitreous enamel, the smaller 1 gall and 2 gall
make great camp ovens too.

And a big thanks to Jeremy for giving us the back ground tunes on his guitar while we enjoyed the evenings around the camp fire. That just tops it off!

I take it MB is used to communal cooking, seeing he had a purpose built stand for his gas ring & pot
We did similar going to Cape York, seeing as we met the same ppl every night we all chipped in
meat, veggies etc and made some very memorable feeds

Mb did well for a large broth mate, flavours were spot on!
Had issues with the Aussie regulator not being enough to bring it to boil hence we put it on the fire, was a bit touch and go for a bit but kudos to yota Chris in keeping it stiring even though he was kopping a shipload of smoke in his eyes!

Hahaha , granted you went up the steeper rockier section of the Mt Margaret track while we took the 'chicken' track - which wasn't for the faint hearted either , but where you came unstuck all 4 of the Patrols went through without a drama , maybe you were playing footsies with your passenger at the time instead of watching where you were going ? 😍
