G'day Folks,

Has anyone ever cut these off?
http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2016/04/164.jpg
I've been told they were molded in for the original production line stands to rest in?
Was thinking they look like catching relatively easy and possibly help drag crap along too?
Cheers in advance!

You can actually cut ALOT off the bottom of the diff. A good 25mm and weld a flat plate on. Worth 2" of tyre size!!! Biders in Cranbourne would sort that out for you. Patrolapart may even sort that for you mate.

If your making a call about it tell them you want to Shave the bottom of the diff housing and they will know exactly what you want.

Some images of shaved diffs https://www.google.com.au/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=shaved%20patrol%20diff%20imagesme.

Why have I never heard of this before? It is so simple but I think the diff housing would lose a bit of strength wouldn't it?

Edit, Beat me to the punch, MR.

I think he means the molding that is a actually apart of the carrier. He does mean that but after Dazz showed the cutting achievable Mark's mind is now on an infinite loop... ;)

For sure :-) Ripper pics and idea's thanks gents !
That would definitely ease rut drag & rocks!!
That mod might have to come a little down the track when casholly permits. Any negatives to structural integrity chopping into the diff so hard?
She's pretty heavy my girl :-) !

snip... Mark's mind is now on an infinite loop... ;)

In my 20's I went out with a sheila for a coupla months that had that issue... (breath in, breath out, breath in, breath out).

To check if MB has the same problem stand in front of him with a 1/2 brick and throw it at him.
If he ducks, great... if he just lets it smack him in the face and asks "why did you do that?" then, yep, same problem.

Note - make sure the brick isn't shiny, thats cheating

Just might have to try that experiment solo...
Could knock some sense into me :-)
