Yo Johno cant you take them to a tyre shop, preferably someone that specializes in 4x4 tyres
and "trade them in" on what you want, they won't give you $1000 but they will negotiate.
I have a friend that trades in his tyres [4x4] when the tread gets to 50%, so he gets the best out of the tyre.
Lately all he pays is $600 every time he wants new tyres, something to think about.
Better than paying $1600 for new tyres just saying

Stupid thing is that I've been home for a week and go back to work tomorrow. Looks like I'm dragging the kids with me next week. Unless something better comes up, me thinks huntsman package might be the go.

Both my dad and brother got the 305's km2's from huntsman about 12 months back. Dad got package deal with the black steelies whilst brother got them fitted to his factory alloys.

Both very happy with them and no issues so far

Thanks mate, that's what I wanted to hear.

Did your dad change his wheel nuts, or use that original factory ones?

He used original factory ones (105 series landcruiser) as he uses the KM2's as off road tyres only and changes back to all terrains in factory alloys to run normally

The rims having a heavy load rating can't be a bad thing.
Will see if I can call them and express my concern and see what warranty/guarantee they have on their own product. Will also price them on other brands.

I remember dad also asking if he could upgrade to ROH rims or something as well, not sure what the response was though - maybe another option for you

Anyone could put that load rating on their rims John. I'm a bit concerned about their rims. I have heard/ read of stories about the rim separating from the centre on their rims. True or not, don't know.

I did some googling today and didn't really find anything. Some of the other places were using dynamic.
I can't remember, but I think he said that they only use their own brand. Will have to call them back. I'm keeping all my options open.
