Hi guys

Locally delivered GQ's used bumperette taillights instead of body mounted to comply with local ADR's; that is the taillights on both sides must be view able from x(?) angle which is not possible with the door mounted spare tire - thus the dummy lights.

I have never removed the taillights but for anyone that has is all the necessary holes pre-drilled and wiring tucked away somewhere or easy plug and play into the loom?

cheers

Nissan did lots of strange things with their Looms. The tail lights will be no good, you could customize them but new one ready to go with globe holders are cheap in eBay. The colours will be right then and look heaps better.

There may or may not be a plug in each rear quarter to plug straight in. You will need to take off the inner panel and check. Easy enough to splice in if its not all there.

I have a 2005 GUIV ST. Earlier this year I happened upon a full Leather interior for it out of a 2012 with electric front seats and all. Couldn't resist!

Ripped out the seats, rolled back the carpet under the drivers seat and there was a plug to plug in Electric Seats! I was expecting to have to wire them up but plug and play on the day!!! Cheaper for Nissan to bulk make all the looms the same and just blank off what each model did not need.

Nah the plugs aren't there. You will have to extend the wiring from the bumper to the tail lights.

Yep the gq didn't have the plugs..
A few ways you can go..
You can simply tap into the wanted light and run it to the new position..
Or all the lights run down the passenger side above the chassis..
Pull it out and run new wires in the loom..

Is there a gromet somewhere in the rear I could easily feed a new loom into the cabin. I'll probably pick up from rear if lights.
