Hi all - I have a '00 GU running an RD28ETi; EGR has been blocked, the intercooler butterfly has been removed, new oil less than 2000 kilometers ago, standard air intake location... I noticed the power loss on my way back after cruising on dirt roads and crossing rivers (small streams) on the weekend. Very low boost (no gauges yet) and very little smoke (as usual) but low MPG efficiency. It was running OK before the weekend. No weird sounds; just lack of strength.

I recently bought the car and I guess the previous owner was not too much into good maintenance because of the stuff that I've had to work on. Any idea if the waste-gate can get stuck and if so how to get it to work again? Will a dusty (very dusty) air filter + dirty MAF sensor cause this?

Thanks in advance,

Tico.

A dirty air filt will cause a hea of problems replace with an OEM as soon as you can
cause at the moment your Patrol has Asthma

New air filter fitted but the problem kept on going. Checked the MAF and one of the lines was broken (red one). Its running nice and smooth now.

Cheers,

Tico.
