Probably been asked a million times and have searched without any direct answers..
Wanting to put a catch can on my CRD, honestly i do not fancy spending upto 300 on a provent.. Curious to know if ppl are using the $70 jobs from ebay and if they work well?
Thanks

I have an alloy Ebay number with some coarse medium in it [steel wool]

Made it fancy with some braided lines and AN fittings on each end lol

Last I remembered Mudski wasn't selling the big ones atm because the supplied jacked up the prices and was no longer competitive... Unless he found another supplier recently?

Yeah not selling them, at the moment. The Provent knock offs are fine. Despite what other say. The oem cans have their part number stamped in the lid of the can. The ones i had, had a ground out section right where the number would be. I suspect these were made for M & H, but i can only speculate.
As for the other cans on ebay. I have seen a couple and they are just empty cans with baffles. Atleast the provent style cans use a filter.
Just dont use the stainless steel washable filters. They dont filter anywhere near as good as the original fibre type filter, which you can still wash anyway.
I used to sell my cans with the stainless filter, only because i wouldn't sell them otherwise.
But yeah. Be wary of some cans. They are just a polished stainless steel can with nothing in them.

I did mine just last couple of days.
Provent200 costed me $165 shipped (ebay Western Filters) and tubes and clamps all around about $200.
I think the price difference between the Provent and other ebay knockoff's are not much these days considering the quality of Provent

I wouldn't spend that much on catch can. Provent can't be that expensive, can it?

Pretty much.. On fleabay ranging from 165 cheapest and if its original to the highest i seen at 385.
I'll be going with a cheaper $55 job with a breather

Yeah, that sounds reasonable. I can't justify spending 300+ on a catch can.
