G'day all, I've got a EGR shim sitting here but worried about the probability of boost spikes if i put it in without a boost control plan.
I've done my head in reading posts on VNT adjustment & or Dawes & Needle valves. If necessary i would prefer to have a Dawes & needle set up as this will give me greater control overall.
I've got a scangauge set up & would prefer just to run with it as a boost measure. I've had this in for a few days & haven't seen any readings above 16.9.
My questions are:
1. Should I bother putting the shim in if I haven't got a way to control boost spikes?
2. Will I definately get boost spikes after blocking the EGR?.
3. What damage can be caused if I am getting boost spikes & i leave the shim in place until I get a Dawes & needle setup?
I've got a new IC on the way from Diesel Smart & was thinking I would put the EGR block in at the same time is all.
Cheers
