Gday all. Just new here and trying to find my way around. Can someone point me in the right direction for instructions on adjusting the serpentine fan belt on my '07 CRD?

Warm regards

It is auto tensioning.. If the belt is lose it's either because the belt is stuffed on the shockie thing on the belt tensioner assembly is stuffed.

What he said ^^^^

Is the belt making a noise or you asking out of curiousity?

The belt makes a noise. Only under acceleration and only for the first3 or 4 minutes of running. The belt feels much tighter than I would have made it by hand.

The belt does need to be very tight, it has a fair bit of work to do spinning all the aux bits of gear.

If you replace the belt it is best to use a genuine one.
Many people report squeal from aftermarket ones.
Save the old one as a spare.
Belt lube/Candle wax etc rarely works

Other sources of noise can be the Tensioner Assy, Alternator Sprag Clutch or A/C Clutch.
It is possible but very rare for it to be the Power Steering or Viscous Fan

A puff of talcum powder on the belt will remove any belt noise, any noise left is a problem.
