I think the last 4.2 was 2006.

I dont think na went that far. Maybe 02 for the na. Td42t stopped in 06 with a rare few from very early 07.

Ok cool,i hope it was 02 for the n/a as i want to put a td42 into my detonated grenade and it will be cheaper to purchase a non turbo engine and get the patrol on the road sooner then ad a turbo kit later.

What are you hoping to pick a motor up for??
and the budget for your build.

Depends on the model variant... and it gets confusing with NA, Turbo and Turbo intercooled changes

The TD42 was NA until May 99.
My late '99 ST was a factory TD42T but I think the DX may have still been a NA for a while into the 2000's

I TD42T weren't intercooled, TD42Ti, until a year into series 3 but could be wrong.

The NA TD42 and the TD42Ti have a fair few tweaks differentiating them, EGR (i think), different gaskets etc

December 2006 was last date for compliance plate but Morayfield dealer was still selling the 4.2TDi well in to 2007 but with 2006 plate as Nissan imported heaps knowing they would sell well.

Brisbane imports said they have a td42 from a 2002 gu complete minus starter and power steering pump/alternator for $4400,wish i could just use the engine from a gq patrol.
