Ok last month my SD33T ate blades from the turbo. So what to do. Saw old mate with the GR Patrol with a BD30 so thought lets have a go.
Luck was on my side, found a BD30 with matching bell housing. So brought it.
Now have a running MK with BD30 engine. Hope you enjoy the photos.
You have to love the mix and match of parts available with Nissan.
cheers

Man i still love the MK shorties. Hows it go compared to the sd33t? That looks like a 50th anniversary model too...

Hi mudski
The BD30 goes well. I just completed it this afternoon. Started first go, no smoke, no need to glow plugs. Not as smooth at idle as the SD33T. But love it. Yes it's a anniversary model.
What ride have you got?

I now have a GU mate. My first patrol was an 86 MK shorty. Mine was a limited edition and it had full cloth interior, suspension seats, air con and the rear lift off roof was metal, not fibreglass.
Theres pics in the MK thread somewhere.....The pic in my avatar in my MK taking a dip.

That is a big dip. Where was that at?
You asked how it ran with this upgrade. We good. Hit's rev limit due to gearing. However I'm getting 32 mpg which is pleasing.
