Hi all, I have a 1990 GQ Deizel with an after market Turbo. Recently I had the front of the engine taken off, to fix a water leak, I think it was between the block and the water pump. Since then when I turn the car on when it is cold, the Glow light goes out and then I have to wait up to 30-40 seconds before the click. If I try and start it earlier the car just winds over for a while before starting. If the car is hot then there is no click at all.
Any ideas.

Cheers

Need more info.

What engine?, Where are you?, Is it summer or winter?, Have you checked the glow plugs?

Engine is a 4.2 and I am in Nanango, Queensland and about to go into winter. The glow plugs where replaced about 6 months ago.

Off topic, but how cold does it get during the Queensland winter? :)
Sorry, I just got curious. :)

I doubt it's a problem with the glow plugs but you need to remove the busbar and check each glow plug.

Your such a Bogan....lol

Is it possible that the pump timing could of been changed?

Dont think so. Is the engine hard to start when warm as well dcwicks?

Possibly a damaged sensor or wire from the timing case/front of engine work.
