A member of our fishing club just traded his early model 3lt GU wagon on another new smaller 4X4 wagon. The dealership has several brands (including Nissan) and when the salesman said the patrols would not be imported after end of this year, he opted for a different brand.
They did not say Y61 or Y62 or both.
There is a lot of information and mis-information out there. I wonder which one this is.

There was a thread about this earlier...

IN-law's recently bought an X-trail and while I was there with her to get a quote as well (on an x-trail), the dealer said as far as their Memos go, it's game over for the Y61.

November 2016 is the date that Australia switches over to Euro 5 standards. DPF for all diesels I guess. Nissan probably did not want to spend the money on a new or upgraded engine.

Why do they need to spend money on new engine to meet Euro5 standards?!!
Aren't they already selling Nissan Patrols to Europe?

From Wikipedia
They stopped making them in Spain in 2009 and 2010 in the UK.......
As of 2014, Nissan discontinued the fifth generation model worldwide, except for Australia, South Africa, the Middle East, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Philippines & some other countries of Africa region.

they would have to reengineer them to euro 5 standards and get them running on ad-blue (urea) (animal piss) to lower emmisions most truck engine munufacturers have managed to do this ....... must be a cost v's sales thing

4.8 will continue, they'd be crazy to stop selling them in the Middle East. Diesels will stop.
