Hi all I have most on the gauges wired in my 3 gauge pod ,but its lacking IMO a USB port
to power things like my DVR, or GPS, seems better than having leads running every which way.
I dont have much room so it would need to be a single outlet

the clock and the RH gauge

Save yourself the pain and just use a usb adaptor plug and stick it in the accessories plug

Found this stand alone USB port might look OK under the pillar pod, same as your link
but it has a base

Why not use a USB extension cord and just cut out the area needed to poke it through the pod and glue it in flush and then plug the other end in under the dash in one of the USB plugs you have already shown.

Neither of the links you have posted have any Output info mate. I would not go near them.

If your happy to crack a casing then buy something with some specs and make it fit. It's only plastic mate.

I'd get something like this

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/30cm-USB-Extension-Cable-Type-A-USB2-0-Male-A-to-Female-B-Sync-Data-Adapter-Cord-/391147678053?hash=item5b1237e965:g:YGIAAOxyhS9TgAs-

And mount a dual USB under the dash and cut a small hole in the pod face to fit the female end of the cord and glue from the back so its flush and throw in a led in the pod and it will be back lit also :driving2:

I might even do in later I just need to think of a reason for more usb plugs.
Damn you 3d giving me more ideas

@ Mega texture the reason was I didnt want USB cables going everywhere running things like the DVR.

Ive brought this one and it will sit in the lower right hand corner of the windscreen,
then I can run the USB ext cord under the dash mat keeping it all neat, well thats the plan

My standard GPS screen fitted when new went on the blink and as I had GPS on my head unit I had the dodgy GPS took out and had metal plate fitted that's got 4 usb ports and the light switches for my front and rear light bars, looks great and should never need any more than 4 usb ports!

Hi Darren came across this one which also has a volt meter in it [red led].
as well,,,, you're after a higher amp unit aren't you this one says 4.2a.is that combined as 2.1a + 2.1a
I'm fitting it to either the inside of the lower pillar pod or maybe the LH pillar moulding if there is
enough room behind it.Red led is in the window when powered up eg 12.35v

Still trying to find that other gear for you to, Ill find it over the weekend for sure

TD, I recently bought a double USB port for the wagon and stuck it under the up / down switch for the radio aerial, as the blank cover was missing and thought it would be good to fill the hole. I wired it up to the deep cycle battery.

Good spot down there I have one there as well
I wired mine so it was "hot" all the time off my aux battery

I was thinking of putting a switch near the fuse that`s inside the engine bay, so I could turn the USB on and off, but it means that I need to open the bonnet though. But only a thought.

Its ok to run it hot from the Aux battery Ive done that with heaps of different devices over the years
switching it on and off would to me be a pain in the butt
