View Full Version : How to know if panhard rod needs adjusting?

The title pretty much sums it up. After my 2" lift, installed an adjustable front panhard rod. What is the best way to know if the front axle has moved and needs adjustment back to center? Will a standard alignment show this or do I need to do something different? Should I also get an adjustable rear panhard?

I know with a 2" lift it doesn't move much, but it seems to have moved a little. I just want to make sure I get it properly aligned and easy before heading out on the winter road next week.

If your wheels aren't centre of the car, i.e too far to one side, you need to adjust the panhards, front and rear until the wheels are. If you dont have adjustable panhards, you will need them.

Thanks. Will a standard alignment show if they are off-center?

Your eyes will show you. If the axles are off centre it will stand out. The left side wheels will be sitting out further than the right side. Oh wait! Is it the other way for you guys?

After I installed my 2" lift I noticed that the diffs did move a little, about 5 mm. If I need to change the panhards for any reason I will with adjustable ones otherwise it will stay as is.
