Awsome outcome guys, so good to see Roofy and Jane back on the road. Well done to those who donate, time , money or advice.

Well I have come home from welcoming Grandchild number 6 to find the BEAST in the driveway looking very sexy (No not Roofy) haha.
The Beasty Patrol!
I can see how hard everyone worked this weekend to put our car back on the track. There was Rosco, Mudski, Bloody Aussie, Matty and Winnie all helping to do such a good job.
Without Nissan Patrol.com .au we wouldn't be able to go 4x4ing anymore or camping or exploring the bush and all the other things that we live to do. It has been amazing by a lot of people helping and donating money for our car. It has really made Roofy realise what great friends he has made on this forum. And people he doesn't even know have contributed!
We both really appreciate everything that has happened and would like to have a meetup on a weekend in May to say thanks.
As Roofy will be out of action for a while we will organise a date shortly and hope as many as possible will make it.
Thanking you all. Jane. and Roofy

Was a pleasure to help Jane. Roofy sure cooked up a mean steak last night to feed us so that helped finish off a great day haha. Can't wait to see you guys back at camp soon and hope it gives you plenty of good reliable service in the future. So happy the rig is back on the road. It makes those curse words that may of been used yesterday all worth it haha.

Sorry i didnt stay long enough to say hi Jane. I was litterally falling asleep in your lounge after lunch. I just needed to get home.
I didnt sleep alot last night. I kept on thinking about what needed to be done today and all the ifs and buts that go with it. Plus your fat ginger cat decided i was the place it was to reside for the night. On me or jam itself between my feet.
We got it done in the end. Without many hiccups.
A word of advise to anyone doing a remove and refit of a ZD30.
Put the bloody engine mounts on the motor before you drop it in....
Lol.
I have footage of the first start up. I just have to figure out how to upload it.

I am so bloody happy with the outcome and roofy is a truly deserving or more so jane is..lol

Roofy turns up to just about every meet up and watch's the sometimes childish antics of the rest of us and at times has stayed at camp while we go and play so as to make sure our stuff is safe.

Always has a good attitude (unlike some of us...lol)

I cannot wait for roofy to get this operation out the way and we have a meet up to celebrate all that is good.

Great news, thanks very much to all who donated and especially those who did the organising, running around and the physical work.
Great outcome and couldn't happen to a more deserving couple. Like I said earlier we need Roofy mobile, I use him as my trump card when the boss tells me I'm to old for all this.
Credit to you all and shows what the goodwill of the forum can achieve.

Have to say it was an absolute pleasure and mostly fun ( apart from that Frick'n right side engine mount Arrrrgh!!) experience and so glad everything went so smoothly. I think it made markie & me pretty happy seeing it cruise up the road and back into the driveway at home under is own steam purring away like a zd30 kitten. Special thanks to everyone involved especially jono for getting the ball rolling and keeping the motivation with this. Also should mention Omar from go2engines who looked after us really well and gave us heaps of good advise, really awsome service all round and was an absolute pleasure to deal with.
Took a vid of the startup but i think it stopped itself and now is gone. grrr

Here's hoping that this motor will give years of happy motoring and adventure, you guys certainly deserve it. ☺. . .

Awsome winnie, you can tell the difference with a good camera, pics looks good. . . Glad you didn't put that one up of me mid jerky munch. . . Yum yum. . .

Just reminiscing one of the highlights of the weekend was pulling out the dummy gearbox shaft for the clutch. Whenever we were a bit stumped or frustrated you could pull it out of the clutch quickly and it would give a great pop!! . . . Ah guess you had to be there. . .

Ah not much krisso just went pop real good. . . Simple things something something. . .

Another funny thing early on putting the thing together we put all the brand new exhaust studs on then went to do the inlet. Only two in the packet. Uh oh so we sent winnie off to warragul nissan and all the bolt places imaginable no luck. . . Then figured out it is only 2 studs and the rest bolts which were the ones we were starring at wondering what they were for! !

I know we should stick to the dates set for Roofys celebration because in past situations it ends up with an infinite loop of not working for everyone but, it's a shame, a lot of people can't make that date.

Especially some interstaters, got a couple of pm's from others in other states who can't make it and of course Winnie who was invited to help out.

Roofy originally wanted the 7th but it's Mias birthday on the 6th so kids party that weekend and the birth of the forum too...lol

Seriously though if that works better for the majority then feel free to organise it blokes rather than relying on the church, it's all good!

Can of worms possibly???

The chances of me making the donk party after or before gawler trip is slim to none unfortunately..

Glad she's all gone well.. another great outcome..

I'll say a hell yes to this. Yours was awesome last time and was secretly hoping you'd offer.

Like wise my place is available in FTG but is not a conducive to Nissan patrol shenagians as yours is.

Any way you guys sort it out as Roofy, BA, mudski, Matt, Winnie, Rossco and AB are the main men in this case that need to be accounted for

Mats paddock was awesome. Too bad couldn't stay the night that time.
Do a few wombat tracks to run in roofy donk and then a few Cold ones after that !

7th of May I'm at Phillip Island for my mums 70th. The following weekend I was suppose to go to SA with the boys but I have just had confirmation that I'm out of that trip. Our last chance kid looker afterer has also fallen through. So this make it possible for this weekend but not the 7th for me.

Good pics too winnie!

Did you put a single mass clutch in or dual as I found mine noisier and lot clunkier when I converted mine to single mass

Thats the single mass flywheel mate. Nothing to be concerned about.

bloody squeak tried an other belt tensioner ,will change the belt tomorrow got 2 more to try
if its not one of them has to be the alternator or air con compressor Grrrrrrrr

put another belt on no noise but alternator bearing might be on its way
out will see

Yeah those tensioners are a royal pain in the ass.
If they are not spot on condition wise they will squeal their heads off.
I found if the a/c idler bearing was shot the belt wouldn't sqeal. You'd just hear an awful dry bearing noise.
From my experience. A squeaking belt is either the belt, the tensioner or both.
Gates or Oem are the only two brand belts i use. For any car....
