What do you call that paint that is like a body deadener that they spray on the underside of cars and sometimes in boots and tubs..
Was thinking the front of my bonnet cops all those stone chips bad and am sick of smashing the bonnet guard and losing them... the last one is on the Caledonia track in Butcher country.
If you find it can you pick it up for me....lol
What do you think of this idea as right now there is so much paint missing from the front edge of my bonnet it is starting to look rough as guts.

Spray putty I think, but you can buy textured finishes as well as stick on sheet for the sills

I'd probably mask off the front of your bonnet and spray it to match if possible then apply
some stick on clear contact about 150mm wide should cover the front and back on to the top a bit
as well, a bit like a skin wrap
You're not thinking of chicken Shite are you??

Still think a clear sheet would look better, Ill get a pic of my bonnet for you, as you can ee you can hardly see it
Mylar is one of the toughest stuff going around, you cant tear it or break it in any way, you would need a 3"-4"
strip its about 2mm thick so absorbs rock strikes, $$$$ as all get out but thats the best product out there for the job
you want to do, As you can see nearly invisible too

You mean bed liner I'm guessing?
Similar to this stuff http://m.supercheapauto.com.au/Product/Dupli-Color-Aerosol-Paint-Bed-Armor-Black-450g/343534
Or if you wanted to be a hack you could Just sand it back and paint it with rustoleom with a high density foam roller

You dont want a hard textured finish it will just chip ,
its needs to have a bit of give, again mylar is the best
for the job,or a rubberised paint
Ill see from some mates if its available to the public

You can get what is called 'stone guard'. Used to be used on sills. It's a spray able paint. Not sure if u can get it in a pressure pack. 2 pac paint is worse for stone chips.

Hey jono, I'd go with a vinyl product called Body Guard. It's thick self adhesive clear vinyl designed to stop stone chips. Pros over paint is that it's clear so basically invisible, cheaper, less prep, and removeable.
