It will work. How good it will come out will depend on the condition of the lens etc etc.
I remember 20 years ago selling a amber lens paint in brush form for the old Dodge and Bedford lenses.
I have can of lens tint, this stuff gives best results if its sprayed on the inside of the lens. So the outside shine of the lens is not affected by the paint. I assume this might be the same???

I think it will be a mongrel job to do it on the Yota lenses, but it will pay for itself on the trailer.
