G'day NP.com.au,
I'm hoping somebody out there may know where to buy these things in Australia, hopefully Victoria if possible?

For anyone else reading this thread, Master Castors and trailers will also do custom axles
with or without brakes. I brought my Orac off road greasable suspension for my trailer
from Scotty, 10" electric brakes as well

Finally found a couple of hours 'shed-me&me ute project time' this arvo :-) ! The mock-up seems to be working well, rusty I know, a hot gal bath later will fix that ! Cheers 3D, I'll touch base with Scotty again later this week to collect the final bits needed :-) !!http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2016/07/188.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2016/07/189.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2016/07/190.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2016/07/191.jpg

Gunna make it a tipper??
Damn you Westy :-) ! My anxiety is high enough with overthought as is :-) ! YES, I guess I should make another tray too, grouse (Vic :-( ) fun !!!
Plan was to cut down several 'trailer' rego's and have Santa Sled's for all property needs.
* 1 x tonne water skid
* 1 x 1/2 tonne spray kit
* 1 x Harland/Russian transfer pump
* 1 x Touring/Work tray
* 1 x HC short corner cut weekend tray
* 1 x Tipper tray now :-)
Cheers Westy :-)

Imo save your time and cash..
Make a good solid tip tray.
Then build a touring canopy to fit it.
And frame to house the spray unit etc etc..
After the first change you'll think fark this and just leave the tipper on..
And in all honesty your only a couple hundred kilos worse off....
If I knew you were building I would have taken some picks of out yota tip tray on the farm for ya..
Very simple.. and hydraulic..

Cheers Westy, agreed :-) !
If it were my old GU single cab then for sure!!
The Laingley extra cab sends heaps of load counterlevering back so whatever weight saving I can achieve is gold :-)

Probably should have mentioned the pre-installed 'on-air' system inplace already :-)
She backs into shed, legs on trays with dolley's, deflates, drive away :-) !!

I can't remeber much on your ute.. does it have a rear tank like the wagons or just the side tank?

GU utes are fully 'chassis' self sufficient:-)
Only mods needed to date have been 'guards'!
Tray's cannot slide on/off with fixed tray guards on them, hence the 'wanky' Dyna's :-) !
Think of it like a 5th wheeler without + trailer air needed, (single line vacuum future stage to come) she should only need a 7Pin light connect & Ando power for each trays power needs :-) !
Twin Optima 'yellows' below, chassis mounted !!

One step closer! Managed to sneak through the design dept my wacky sketches of the "Weekend corner cut 'SHS/RHS' tray back" theory.
Many jack points, boxes & tyres still need adding.
Dare to be CHS different I guess :-)

I realise you're trying to save rego's , but there are stacks of Hi-lux
dual cab tubs lying about. they make great spray units. The tub holds
a caged 1000 ltr container and the drawbar would house the pump unit.
Just saying

That would be blasphemy John driving around with TOYOTA across a rear tailgate! I converted some 11 years ago now and visit AB's church regularly.
I do like your idea though, may have found a more suitable tub I could steal off AB ;-)

This is our current water carter. In the panicked aftermath of Black Saturday we added the second 1000L which foolishly bent the trailer. Now going to add this pump and only one tank to a steel skid for the back of the ute chassis. Much more nimble getting around the paddock tight areas in a rush for small grass fires only.
Note: IMHO Buggered if we or anyone should stay if now known weather conditions like that day ever arise again!

Being that most of our land is Leasehold, we've started making these gravity fed troughs so that we're not investing too much infrastructure into others back pockets and they can move on if ever we need.

This pumps a ripper, ex-central pivot irrigator now moves around the bush blocks dams. Going to mount this old Russian twin diesel & Aussie Harland pump onto another steel skid for the ute to back into the unused dams with most scrub around them!

This little contraption we made works a treat! Kanga carryall with a 200L boomless Silvan gets into anywhere very safely. Does have its limitations though with only 200L and slow return refills so needing to make an upsized version for another steel skid for the back of the ute chassis also!

But still better 2 be prepared than get caught out. We had fires not far up from us that had only had snow 2 weeks before hand.... who would of guessed we would of had 2 be worrying about bush fires

Scored a ripper deal at ‘Pick a Part’ on the way home to add to my unfinished projects here, lol :-) http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2018/02/79.jpg Fully road legal Dameco -QLD for only $250 and an hour of cordless grinding on site as it was very very well stuck not bolted on. Happy Days :-) ! http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2018/02/80.jpg
