G'day to all you patrol forum mob. my name is Rob Im a relatively newbie have a 99 y61patrol just finished an engine rebuild & have a brake problem I did not have before the rebuild, the brake pedal is really hard I have to stand on it to pull up, Im thinking/hoping maybe air has got in somewhere as i had to disconnect the vacuum pump on the rocker cover ? can someone who has done a rebuild on an y61have any suggestions would be much appreciated

what size motor....?
Diesel........?

there is several motors to choice from to know what your after

Don't have the 2.8 so can't speak from experience, but it sounds like you have the vacuum hoses connected wrong. Maybe check with someone else with the same engine

I'd be going with vacuum problem as well.
Here's one of the vacuum diagrams from the workshop manual for RD28
