Hey All QLD'ers
Was looking at 33's to remain 'legal' but 35's would just help that little bit on clearance, though of course illegal.
However has anyone actually been fined for having 35's ?
I've only heard of 1 guy being fined, but that was due to another reason at first and the police adding the tyres to the list.
I guess the other thing to think about is if you were involved in an accident and had 35's on.
Cheers
Jeff.

One of my mates got done for running 33s on his poolux. Not patrol I know, but he wasn't stopped for something else. Saw the tyres and pulled him over and gave him few hundred buck fine.

Yikes - ok, think I'll stick with 33's then (maybe the police on the southside of Brissie are nicer)

Maybe. Its an easy thing for them to pick as its written on the tyre. Its to hard for them to ping lifts cos there is just to many variances in vehicles for them to know everything.
If you can keep everything looking neat and not jacked up 6inches etc the you will more than likely be left alone.

Totally agree with Newby.
A neat mild vehicle usually gets threw unless the cops are out to make a day of it (Ie vic high country last year).
As Newby said if your off the illegal end by a mile, 35's 6" lift and enough lights to replace the sun well then your sorta asking for it..

That is a valid point. Does have Flexy Coils to avoid that extra high lift look + spacers (and plated), 3 lots of LED lights, so only 1/2 the sun. More than a stock, but no-where near a monster truck look. Though the V8 donk does attract attention.

I've been done for mine, was pulled over because of them too, then they noticed the long arms, superflex arms lift 2 seats, etc etc,

On the GQ. Twice was for the 35s one time I was speeding. The speeding time I didnt get done for the speed but he sent me for dot inspection. When you go for inspection they dont just check what you were fined for its a full inspection.

I just got fined for tyres only, I actually had a genuine reason for the 35's as I've always had onroad and play tyres. I was heading out to the bunya mountains for n.y.e as friends rented a cabin, and I found a large slice in the sidewall so I decided to run the 35s incase I had a blowout. I told the copper that and he was cool about it. Still fined me, but no points, no inspection. I think he was right into 4x4ing because he knew what he was looking at knew that it was all good gear. After he gave me the fine he said "it's a bit high too mate.... have a good day".
Thats was country Qld though if it were Brissy, it probably would have confiscated under the hoon laws
