Hey guys,
A mate of mine is looking at gq's has a preference for manual over auto.
Just wondering how tricky an auto to manual conversion would be?
I'm assuming you'd need pedals, clutch booster, manual gearbox. I'd assume transfer case is the same?
Anything else required?

The auto runs it's own control box that doesn't talk to the ecu, so I'm pretty sure the ecu is the same.

I would love a good auto set up as with my back and nerve problems changing gear on some of the big trips in the high country get painful.
George mentioned the auto out of a tb45.?

I'd take the Series II GQ Auto over the manual everytime (and I've had both).
Series I is OK but the Series II box has a better setup ECU and shift pattern options
Spend less than 1/4 the cost of the conversion on the Auto (Manual Lockup and a tweaked Valve Body) and it will out climb, out beach, out descend, out mud and out tow the manual.

I'm using my original TB45E trans and torque converter. Just had to drill the 3 holes in the TB bellhousing for the TD starter.
