Well this is the slow build up of my Patrol it was purchased at the end of 2014 as an RB30 Carbie. This was purchased as a complete project car, after building a few 4wd's in the past as well as cars and bikes I figured this would be a fairly simple job. Well anything that could go wrong did.... While the project is still on going it is on the road now and I must admit I absolutely love it.
So this was when I purchased the truck...

The first things that needed to be done was:
- Remove motor and replace with one of the following RB25DET, TD42,TB42, LS2 or LS3
To be honest I am not a diesel fitter, and I did hunt for a TD42 for a solid month with little luck the only decent motor I found was 6K as I couldn't see the point in that then the additional costs for ECU, wiring, gearbox and brakes I figured it was out.
I also was planning on doing this myself so the RB25DET was out however I did price the work through Mercury Motorsports the other areas was this was to be built for 4wd not as a high speed performance car. The LS option honestly I couldn't be fucked at the time however looking back I should of done this...

- Strip the patrol inside
- Remove the rust (this is where it went south quickly)

After the removal of the motor the GQ became lightly lighter once the dash and interior was removed.

I went for a LS3 (L98 6 ltr) pick it up still in the crate for $4000.00 then had to save for 12 months for the conversion kit ,
but it was worth the wait 63946

The most important things to remember:
1. Use scissors that designed for cutting carpet (or sharp ones at least)
2. DONT DRINK JACLK DANIELS cans, beer only or glasses at least...
3. If going in mud don't use Plush Black carpet unless you have mud mats already purchased.

Ok so the motor and box purchased, however I did have a TB42E and manual box sitting in a mates garage that was purchased for a few cartons of booze. I went in for the EFI gear and walked out with a complete motor and autobox (198,000km on the clock)

It was not the best phone call to hear while I was at work, I will try to find the photos of the damage... basically all of the dash and inside I removed I had in the boot of the 4wd where destroyed

Ok so I finally had to give up my amazing milk crate race seat as I purchased a set of genuine race RECARO's, having these sorts of seats in my past cars I know what I was in for I do love them, the lip on the edge does not bother me.. my other half is a different story so to solve this issue... she does jump in the patrol often and everyone is happy.. the GQ runners were off my old seats as well.

Well my brake got an upgrade to a twin calliper piston, and I have slotted rotors to be installed in 2 weeks (I have had them sitting around for 7 months now).

My diff gears are currently 4.3 however I am looking too up grade to 4.6

Also the car did get a back yard respray job... main reason I do take this off road and it does get damaged and scratch.... (hence why I settled for an older 4wd)

the original colour was keep and the front two doors where replaced with power window ones, with electric side mirrors ( I need some comforts)

just as a rough idea on the wiring I figured I should add the photo, the speakers are all in and I don't see the put in a sub in this car.. I will be installing a tablet in the truck with a similar set up I had done to my Navara, minus I will be using an Ipad over a Nexus main reason I can get one cheap and if I move the Air con controls there is a change of fitting in a larger one
