So im tracing and correcting all the wiring that was done on our patrol by a dyslexic blind man on psychotropic medication. This includes the imobiliser, dual batteries, Anderson plug, accessory plug and brake controller.
There is 2 meters of wiring under the dash that hooks into this doohickey. It has nothing written on it. Can someone tell me what it is?. please

Not the Servo for a pre-historic cruise control is it?

What model and motor Patrol?

I hot excited to start with. I thought it was a flux capacitor.
Its a 98 GU patrol with a rd28. The wiring under the dash seems to be going into the same loom as the diy alarm but im not sure its connected. If its not a standard nissan part i might rip it out and see if it still starts. Lol

Reminds me of the old days on the motor bikes ,you removed the headlight shell
started the bike and started cutting wires till the motor stopped Ha ha

You may also have magnets on your drive shaft and a pick up beside them if the original owner didn't use the speedo signal.
But... they may have been wiped out on the tracks as well and be long gone

So it is the actuator for the ap500 cruise control. The fact that it is sold as a diy kit scares me. Guess ill find out how and if it works or remove it

Why? They are their top of the wozza unit.
I have put 3 on my own vehicles over the years and a couple on other peoples
The AP60 is better for petty's, much cheaper
My current Patrol (a 6.5 Brunny Chev) has a later model of a similar type in it.

If it is working then thats a win
If it isn't working prob better off ripping it out and starting over.

Thats the best part of buying a second hand car. Ripping out the 3 miles of electrical wire that goes to nowhere.
I did that on mine and found an early style Ericsson in car kit all zip tied up under the dash and also old HID ballasts jammed in under the headlights.

Well the wiring from the second battery and the UHF got me. he was about 40 centimeters short so instead of running another wire he just added about a meter twisted them together added some electrical tape and was done. there is wire everywhere.
