Hey guys,
Just moved to Brisbane from WA and need to get my rego transferred to QLD plates. I have to get my roadworthy/safety check done tomorrow and the garage I spoke to said I need to have the full 7 seats in there otherwise I'll need to be mod plated...? I originally bought the Patrol here in QLD 2 years ago without the rear seats anyway so its sounds like BS to me...
Anyone in Brissie that could possibly lend me the seat for a day?? Will send some beverages your way for the favour!
Cheers

Sorry, can't help but no its not BS, If the plate says 7 seats there must be 7 seats. A lot of mechanics doing inspections never basically gave a shit about the seats and just passed it anyway, but I'm sure all states like were I am in NSW they are really cracking down on what they use 2 turn a blind eye 2 because the authorities are cracking down hard on them.
I had a crack in the window they should have not passed and my old mechanic said if I got pulled up from the RTA that the crack only happened a few k's before being pulled up.

Cheers for the heads up mate! I don't see the problem with a 7 seater car having 2 less seats really, I can understand if a car suddenly had more seats than factory fitted or something, but just taking out a rear seat and keeping belts etc in there when so many new 4x4's have fold down hidden rear seats and stuff anyway... Seems very anal to me!
