Hi all I haven't been on for ages as I have been busy building our bus, moving states and generally working my arse off. My 96GQ petrol efi/gas has done us proud taking us all over in including Fraser of late. I have started having issues with it not wanting to run on petrol and the engine light coming on, doesn't seem to be an issue on gas. Tonight it farted and burped and wouldn't rev and the light came back on, ran ok on gas all the way home then, once safely in the driveway i turned her off switch to petrol and it ran fine, no light on?
Any ideas would be much appreciated. I was thinking air/fuel sensor or fuel blockage?

Thanks Bloody Aussie, is the fuel pump under the floor at the back and also where is he fuel filter, as she has done 299K and I don't think that would have been changed in a while. I want her to be as reliable as possible as now i am in central QLD the cape is not that far away and I can here it calling me.

The pump is in the back under the floor and if you have not fitted draws in the back then is easy to get to.
The filter is under the bonnet on the drivers side between the engine and the battery from memory and is also easy to change yourself.

Jumped in the Patrol this morning on petrol no issue, switched to gas all good. got in this arvo and started her on gas and the engine light was on straight away. Drove her no drama. When I came home i tried the old disconnect the battery. Light still on left the battery disconnected for 10-15 minutes. Turn it on and off a couple of times and when the light was on it didn't like running on petrol (thinking air flow meter) as it would idle but if I put my foot down it would fart and burp. Gas as normal was no issue. I started it again light off no issue on petrol. interesting fact when the engine light was on the air cond was not cold, with the light off the it was as cold as ever. Any of the smart guys out there with any ideas please.
Cheers
