Well I'd like to formally welcome a new member..
We have picked up a 08 st with only 63*** (now just over 64*** now that it's home...) 3LTR CRD.
An ex cfa vehicle it does have some holes in the console from gadgets but that's a small over sight for what we have landed..
It has come with
2" lift, Lovells HD kit
Which bull bar
Piranha dual battery setup
center roof console
Cargo barrier
And the surprise of the year, an outback draw system,
Superior tower braces
Braced rear diff
And a GMV upgrade to 3450kg.
Were bloody stocked.
Cant fault it..
Future mods list.
Cd/ DVD player - done
Uhf - done
Winch - done
Catch can - done
Scangauge - done
Egt gauge - done
Exhaust - done
Tillix and needle valve - done
Tint windows - done
Decent tread
Roof Racks - done
Anyway..
Pics..
Enjoy

Seems it has a rear lsd instead of diff lock.
Maybe diff lock is an auto Trans factory fit

This one looks fully loaded. Congrats!
Nissan started putting cruise control with all the models around 2006/7. My DX has factory cruise and its a 2007. As for the LSD to Locker move, that came about when they started installing stability control to meet the Vic regulations. Not sure of the year. LSD and stability control don't work that well together.

Good luck with the class action for the dash fellas if the car is more than 6 years old they don't want to know you. I will hit up Nissan for this when my 4 2 goes in for the air bag recall. Even if I pay for parts i will save huge on labour while they have it apart .

Na fair call. I have nothing about the recall in the service book so I'll investigate it all

Unfortunately Nissan got around the dash issue by releasing a Service Bulletin NOT a Recall. It was expected that if the car went in for service and an owner asked there was a Service Bulletin allowing for it to be replaced.

If the cat has been serviced by Nissan and not CFA then you might argue that the Service Bulliten should have been followed and the dash should have been replaced during general service intervals.

Yikes. When I talked to them about it, the dash was $590 - labour was around $500-600, but since they were pulling it out anyway if I paid the parts they willl happily slot it in.... Wonder where they got 2500 though... Or the service bloke I spoke to was talking s#it.
Regardless I'll hit them up for it.

Yeh they could of also been bumping up the "$2.5k" to convince me that I was getting a good deal and to pay the labour component - still definitely worth a shot when you do the airbag recall though.

I think your Patrol is set up to tow heavy trailers, nothing wrong with that at all
as its braced to handle it, Next time I go past State wide Ill pop in and ask about the GMV update
can you bounce the front and rear by hand up and down or is it rigid??
When I first brought mine I thougth the ride was harsh especially coming from a Troopy.
I decided to check the tyre pressures and they were 65 psi all around, after ringing the owner and asking why
she said its written on the sidewall of the tyre, which it is lol

No cant tow any more. Still the 3.2t.
But can carry 3.45 on board..
If the patrol is maxed I can legally only tow 2.5t..
But I will maybe never get near that gmv.. now with the van anyway..
And suspension is about the same as the gq..

We have the same/similar setup on our SES 4X's... GVM upgrade and 2 inch lift.
If you don't have extra GVM you run out of capacity well before you load up the bodies, radios, batteries, steel winch bar and winch, long range tanks, roof racks and the back full of gear plus rear bars and towball loads... and that is towing 2 ton trailers.
No extra GVM means we either leave the people or the gear behind

GCM will most likely be the same as original.
None of the mobs I am aware of do GCM upgrades (but that is only a couple)
GCM upgrades are available but if they are like GVM upgrades in some states they must be done at time of Rego
Lot more engineering involved in changing GCM
Disclaimer, Some states do not apply GCM to light commercials only LR, MR, HR etc sooooo it depends what data is supplied by the manuf but you still can't exceed the GVM upgrade specs.
Some companies specify that GVM upgrade is against GCM some do not.

Should have added irrespective of the vehicle IF the GCM is stated by the manuf on the vehicle plating then that is applicable
If it is not then the GCM is 'as determined by the registering authority' IE the dudes on the side of the road or at the inspection station.
It's a huge bag of regs and bulletins etc but easiest way is stay under the original GCM (if plated) or 'original GVM + towing capacity = GCM even with upgrade' and you are def OK.
Trying the 'updated GVM + original towing capacity is now the new GCM' may or may not work if things go pear shaped

Was old school having your mike cords dangling from the roof,
can I suggest you run 2 ext speakers One on your oh shit bar or A pillar moulding
and one on the passenger side.. you wont miss anything thats said then.
Nothing in the mail today?????
the UHF with the controls on the mike are very user friendly
cant see but is it 80 channel? Good antenna those too.

I agree with Darren, would drive me nuts up there.
I will often just drop the mic when driving through tricky stuff but if you do that with it up there it will swing all over the place.
You would be best off getting the mic extension to put the mic on the center console if you want the CB up there.
agree with the mike ext cord I think mine is Rj45 and 6' long.
Ive mounted the mike now on the passenger side so the driver
can concentrate on driving, plus it gives the passenger some imput

Maybe.. but this is a small one anyway. About credit card size. Just from testing it in the drive way I think the normal speaker is going to be fine

So chassis was quite sand blasted up front so this arvo have gone about getting a few sperm suits and getting under the car with first Degreaser, then a car wash and a good high pressure clean..
I'm doing the whole chassis with a coat of kill rust black and then tomorrow will be getting back in another sperm suit and spraying the whole under body with fish oil..
Happy with the outcome so far..

So main tank breather mod done for extra capacity..
I also started the mounted air compressor in the rear 1/4..
Stainless flat using original bolt holes..
Solid as a rock in there..
Next I have to make a manifold to take the new pressure cut off, a gauge and outlet line..
It's a nice fit and heaps of room..
Might even get a small 25-30L water tank in there.

Yeah agree you may need to fit a panel with vents on it to get abit of air flow going

Yep I have a 125mm 12v fan I'll put on the relay so when the compressor is running it'll be drawing in cold air..

Not hard at all.. once the bloody draws were out the way (they ain't coming out unless I dismantle them!!!) just remove the few screw on things like Jesus handle, cargo clip and belt retainer.. remove the window surround and then remove the lower section..
It's majority clips..

So winch is a few steps closer to done..
We got the bar off and re positioned the gearbox to a much nicer position and fitted the solinode and wiring in..
We also fitted the snorkle..
God dam what a pain..
5 hours!!!!!
I know why the charge $300+ to install them...
So I have also fitted up the awning with an led light strip down the mount to a cig socket to plug into the rear...
Cant wait to use it all..

Had the headlamp out to remove that stupid duct work anyway. .
Also put a fair wacky of it inside to so it's sealed from both sides..

So what's happened..
Compressor is hard mounted in the rear 1/4.
Hose sits nicely in the window pocket..
I have also made a vertical pantry for trips with no van..
Awning has LED's and a small strip along the roof..
I also moved the side wing of the draw system back 30mm to fit switches etc in without fouling the door..
Also due to the bloody blow moulded table not fitting between door and barrier I had to make a quick table top which sits in the draw quite nicely..
Not quite as big as I wanted but it's all the laminate I had left..
And 3" exhaust is in and awesome..
Light bar is on, and winch is finished..
Finally..... untill I get a in / out switch.....

Farkin bright lol..
I'm going to try tap the yellow wire into the dimming circuit so hopefully that'll lower it a bit..
And yea I guess the pantry could be removed. But it's only in for remote car only trips. When we have the van behind it won't go in..
