When I pulled the air filter cover to get at the MAF this hose broke. There's a couple of them, and they're hard and brittle, so I wanna replace them soon. What's the one in the pics called?

I'd call it screwed or if that doesn't work, the VNT actuator vacuum hose

So I reckon 4mm vac hose would be cheaper than asking for a VNT actuator vac hose? :)

In the WA wheat belt the cockies would fix it with a bit of garden hose and 1/2 a roll of insulation tape... even cheaper again

Your Patrol will drive really bad if you dont fix this. Get a couple of meters and replace the other hoses at the vacuum solenoid too.
SCA sell 4mm id silicone hose. Thats all you need to get. Even rubber will be fine.

I was able to shorten the old one and got some vac hose yesterday. Does it have to be heat resistant? I'd imagine that dooverlacky hanging off the turbo would get raging hot

I've noticed mine has a similar oil film around the intake to turbo pipe as tlyours growler.
Is this pretty normal or am I chasing a leak already??

Any rubber or silicone will do for this. Yeah it does get hot but the hose will be fine on it for years.

New supplier ie no longer dealing with provent? Or just someone else to supply the provent cans?

The supplier put my buy price up the same time our dollar fell out and then they increased my shipping cost too. Also the sell prices went down. In the end i was only pocketing a little over $5.
