Hi Team,

My 99 GU ute has been lifted, is there an easy way of measuring how much?? the inside of the front tires are wearing a little, looks like the camber is out and i need offset bush's so a wheel alignment is needed to find out what offset I guess?

G'day mate ispose the easiest way would be to find a stockie and measure from the ground to the sill or mayb the centre of the wheel arch and compare to yours I'm not sure if vehicle height is in a manual? You will need to take into consideration wheel height ie 31"-33" and also that the suspension could have sagged but you should get an indication mayb take some photos and post em up here maybe with a tape
measure in the shot and some members may be able toassist

Measure from the bottom edge of the rim to the sill (not flare) of the quarter panel - front and back and then post those numbers up. Someone with a stock unit can do the same (not sure on GU's as I have a GQ and can get you those figures - no good though!! lol) and hey presto.

You measure from the bottom edge of the rim to the steel arch to remove any variation in tyre size!

Good luck with it mate!

It's actually more accurate to measure from the centre of the wheel to the steel arch because that removes any variation in wheel size as well.

Measure between the bump stops front & rear. Then you need to get the same measurements for a stock patrol Ute. This will give you the spring lift height. If its got a body lift measure the block. How dose it steer? Camber is non adjustable with a wheel alignment only toe. Castor is corrected by either arms or bush's Maybe the toe is out causing the wear. Or could be bent housing. You can change camber slightly with a off set kingpin. This is usually the fix when the rig wants to keep pulling to the left. you normally only change the pass side kingpin on the bottom. Post up a pic from side on & we can have some fun guessing what lift you have lol.

My mate has a gu ute with a 4" Toughdog lift. I'll measure the bump stops when he's back from tuff truck & post them up.

cheers Jono.
