What are the advantages and disadvantages of these and I take it the TD42 does not have this from factory?

ceramic caoted handle the heater better and are used on high performance engines and are not std on the 4.2.

Ceramic keeps the heat on the right side.of the piston thus making the whole process more efficient, due to less heat / energy loss..

Basically as above. It helps to keep temps out of the material and in the gas. It also aids in keeping temps more stable across the crown of the piston. More of a benefit for high hp engines.

If your gonna do a rebuild, for the price difference that isn't a lot, just use those pistons IMO. Your motor will love you for it. Lol.
