So I'm not big on intro's but although I dont technically ówn' it my other half has a TD42 wagon which I steal on a regular basis. Myself I own a Bj42 shorty, (I know I know toyota, shhhh) which I have big plans for and I've already done an engine swap from the old 3b to a 13bt. anyway fun stuff aside I also spin a few yarns for some 4wd mags (you can read my latest article in issue 018 of UNSEALED 4X4, and I specialise in 4WD photography. So most of the time you will find me asking questions about the big poo, but I also like to know whos got trick rigs down VIC way that would like to accompany me on an article trip sometime

cheers!

G'day and welcome to the forum. Good to see another girl on the forum. Post some pictures... of the Nissan of course. Seriously, if you do break something while you are trying to fix it, turn to the forum - someone will have done it before for sure.

Welcome there! Its a great place here to have a chat and learn a thing or ten. As winnie said we do a few forum trips, you get plenty of good shots there. But if you have any trips of your own lined up or planned. I'd be keen and I'm sure a few others will too.

I mostly handle any Vic High Country stuff the boys in the office have ideas for. But having said that, They want me to come up so they can show me around their stomping ground for once instead (blue mountains) seeing as they always come down to vic i probably should head up there soon i think! Ive been here and there but no real 4by trips. whats your recommendations? when i do head up ill hit up the forum and see who wants to come haha they're usually about 5 days during the week. but when im cruising around vic i easily get an article out of a weekend or a day trip which is handy :)

i have to say im a tad jealous of the allowed to drive on beaches thing haha

so heres a pic of the shortbus and the big poo, some of you might even recognise the 40 from the 4wd action mags haha, i swapped the engines over about a year ago its now running a 13bt, as opposed to the old 3b, its basically the same engine but direct injection and factory turbo, its goes pretty good haha. for anyone thats interested in the old 40s (i know, probably a sin talking about toyotas on here, but shh) the eventual plan is soft top, roll cage and 80 series chassis- one day haha *dreamylookinmyeyes*

ill start a members ride thread for the pooey soon but until then have a geez here :) Its the ultimate touring bus now, and you would have seen this rig in unsealed 4x4 mags, its got all the usual fun stuff winch, the might 4.2, turbo by dynamic turbos, 33s 2"lift fridge on a slide, awning (just put it on so its not in the pics) light bar, arb compressor and arb dual batterys and some other fun bits. just put racing gauges in it purely for the handy little warning beep they make at pre-set temps and im currently on here looking for info about doing the front shocks (this arvos job)

cheers for the super warm welcome guys and girls!

Hi ForgeCreekFerals4x4 and welcome to the group. I live in the mountains of Panama and the old BJ and FJ40s are everywhere, doing most of the heavy work. They're amazing vehicles. Even more prevalent in Costa Rica. Just bought a 2009 Patrol diesel and hoping it proves to be just as tough.

I'd love to have the high country in my backyard.. don't think I'd leave it..
I'm sa so know fark all of NSW.
But if you get across here I'd be more than happy to show you the best beach driving australia has to offer.. 😆
I couldn't imagine not being able to drive on the beaches.. but if a few had there way it would be banned..
Unfortunately a few around Adelaide are closing up.. hopefully it doesn't continue.

hey just had a look, it sounds sick!
ive just fired off an email to a mag that might be interested and if i get green lights ill come along. Easiest way to do it for me though is jump in with someone if they'll have me, so i can just jump out whenever and snap some pics. Safety wise no worries there i use a handheld uhf around my neck so i can hear what everyones doing.

editor just got back to me, its not the right style for the mag, and the only article i would get is how not to attempt stuff, which might offend members.

i might still come though depending on work.
