There is a proposal to turn it into a Great National Park... Potentially meaning a lot of changes, if this ever gets off the ground.

I can't see how its going to impact much of camping and 4wdíng. It will be much like what it is now in our National Parks. Unless this proposal is different. Looks like the hunters its will impact the most.
This proposal was probably thought of from a suit behind a desk who's never been out in the bush too.
All signed from me...

Sad thing is that the native fauna that they are locking people out to protect, are actually protected by hunters who knock off feral pests.
Once they ban hunters, fox, feral cat & dog numbers will increase and guess what they eat? They don't care if they're in a "national park" either.

I don't know much about the high country and how much area is national park compared 2 state park but it really depends on how your National Parks gives you access 2 4WD and camping. If its like ours its pretty much bugger all for the size of it, So think of all the state parks within the high country which I assume are more freely accessed been locked up because they have been turned into national parks.
I'm sure it will make a big difference.
