How can I tell what diff ratios are in my patrol?

They have '46' stamped on them in large white writing, does that mean they are 4.6:1?

Ok so I cnt recall off hand what the codes on the compliance plates line up to which ratios but basically if your front & rear diff housings are the same size, you got 4.11's but if your rear diff housing is larger than your front, you got 4.23's

eg HG39 means 3.9, HG41 means 4.1, HG43 means 4.3 etc

... assuming a prev owner hasn't swapped out diff centres or the entire diff.

If you need to check, jack the wheels of an axle and see how many turns of the shaft it takes to turn the wheel 1 revolution... or pull a diff apart and count the teeth

To add to this. If it has HH instead of HG you will have the larger rear diff
