Hi,

I installed a screen and reversing camera in my old D22 Navara, i found a great thread online showing a picture of the exact wire to splice into when installing. Wondered if someone could do the same one here so i can install in my GU. Is the wiring loom under the seat like in the D22? Which wire is for the reversing lights that i need to splice into for the signal to turn the camera on?

If someone could point me to a thread that already exists, or reply with a picture i would be grateful!!

Thanks!

Just power the camera from the reverse light at the rear. This means every time you put it in reverse your camera powers up.

Thanks mate, was hoping to not have to run a cable Ye full length of the car, if I could t into the loom at the dash end of prefer it. Thanks for the comment tho!

the camera at the rear needs to be powered via 12v so the power from the reverse globe in the rear tail light is a winner. Unless you have purchased a wireless device your camera and video display need to be linked via a wire and this is the only wire you will need to run from the camera to the display. splicing into the loom at the rear reverse globe is by far the simplest way to wire into the reverse switch. Auto or manual makes no difference. The camera and display should be connected via a speaker type wire only from memory. simple circuit.

Ok thanks guys, maybe i'm getting confused about this. But my head unit has an input from the reversing switch that turns the screen to the camera input. The camera is actually always on and you can manually select to view it any time when driving. The camera gets its power from the head unit itself by way of a pre-moulded cable (along with video signal). All i want to avoid is running an additional signal cable all the way from the reversing light to the back of the head unit. Just wondering if it was possible to do this under the seat instead like in my D22, and if so what colour wire i'm after.

Its a Pioneer AVH-X5550BT unit.
