Ping: snap: rope in face. Shit noooo. May as well use a snatch strap on a tow ball, less dangerous IMHO.

Easy way to castrate yourself if the rope breaks... hmmmm, maybe thats the point???

I think Id use an old snatch strap or a piece of 20mm plasma that I have for dragging logs.
At camp I have some Herc alloy 6mm chain just for this purpose.
2nd job after setting up camp

I have seen these when I was in Virginia, my mate worked for the forestry Dept.

they look like a winch with the cable at the end, instead of in the middle
and
they are purposely built for that type of thing

they are not light weight Husqvarna chain saws adapted to use

in a controlled environment (probably like the Vid) there wouldnt be a problem

yes maybe something on the cable to dampen it

surely if you use rope [plasma] that would take a lot of the risk out of it ????

when I visited my mate (2005) they were just transferring them from cable to plasma rope

as per ANY Gov. Dept. it was a stuff up

wrong size rope
wrong lengths
wrong pretty much everything
what a head fook

took them a good 6 months to get them all changed over

On a similar level, the other day I saw something I didn't know existed... A drill winch... Plug your drill in and winch away ey ???
