Well though i would post a few pics.
Bought by 2011 GU CRD AUTO about 2 months ago now - was very stock standard on purchase, but a pretty clean rig under 70ks
Its my daily drive, but want it as a weekend tourer as we do a lot of weekend travel in SEQ - My missus is a Photographer and loves to get out an shoot new sights.
Also love our yearly trips to fraser so it needs to be capable of week long camping trips.
Here's a couple of pics stock standard as i purchase it ....

Next on the agenda fitting the UHF, mobile phone cradle and GPS, plus UHF antenna on the bullbar

Also threw some spotties on the bullbar - i don't do much night driving so not a huge priority for me - but had to fill in the space on the bull bar with something hey

Catch can next on the agenda - decided no to go pro-vent, rather bought a standard can, mad my own internal baffle and filter inside it.
Mate of mine has a pro-vent, and since fitting it had a rear seal leak - Nissan said it was because of the back pressure of the catch can
Probably BS, but hey, my cat i guarantee is catching most of the oil most, and has no restriction in flow at all, so im happy.

Next is a replacement inter-cooler. The stock one is leaking on the corners
So purchased one off ebay - yep i know, its the cheapy, but ive heard some good reports.
Fitted up well, also fitted an under-slung fan on a really wired up to ignition
Very happy with the final result .

Well today's addition was roof bars and a bonnet protector.
Heading to fraser at Xmas so want to fit a decent sized awning.
Decided i needed three roof bars, and wanted higher set ones so is still easy to clean the roof under them
Worked out a set of RhinoBars on special at AutoOne for around $500 for a 3 set.
As luck would have it, this week i saw a used set of the exact same ones for sale on a local FB buy/sell page - for just $60
They are used, need a clean up, but i just saved myself $400 - so it means i can really splurge on a good awning now.

Very nice rig indeed, will be interested how the IC goes, great pick up on the racks.
Maybe a Bat Wing awning down the track lol
Might want to invest in a Scan Gauge for when the check engine light comes on.
Did you drill a hole in the egr plate??
Also fit a boost and EGT gauge to monitor changes when any mods are done.
Love spending other ppls money ,,,,lol
Oh and a bigger scoop ha ha

Yep that's the plan - that's why i wanted the higher racks especially to fit the awning up a bit higher. On my last patrol i had the awning lower and it was always getting caught in the door when you closed it.

I'm using a WIFI ELM with DashCommand and my spare Iphone, but thinking of buying an ultragauge (the programmable one upgrade one) rather than a scan gauge as i have all the codes and with the upgraded ultraguage you can also monitor the AT temp sensor - which i dont think you can do with a scan gauge.
Haven t had any issue with the check light - but can clear it with my app in needed for the moment.
And i don't have a hole in my EGR blocking plate - i reckon a hole defeats the purpose of doing it.
I have a EGT fitted - interestingly, the EGT dropped by nearly 100 deg at cruising speed with the new inter cooler and fan - contrary to what some say that they don't have an effect at highway speed.
Ive been motoring the boost via my app - it allows you to track spikes, and ive had no issues singe fitting the EGR block.
I have also fitted a water temp sensor and gauge - as i just dont trust the nissan one in the dash.
Ive got a stock exhaust ATM - and not in a hurry to upgrade on that as im happy with the performance for now.

Love the tint similar to what I have except the cargo windows are in Limo.

Plus with those rear door weather shields its awesome at camp , crack
the windows 25mm for air flow and the Engels just purrs lol

Because I have a 3/4 rack for my awning I made a full length
piece of rhs to mount the awning. Its secure at the front, rear and middle
so no flapping around. No chance of bending either if snagged by a tree

I hear ya on the door seals - my car is parked outside at work all day - so leaving the windows down but don't have to worry about the rain - it stays a lot cooler.
Notice you have a rear dust deflector on the roof - do you reckon they help with the dust at the back or just a gimmick?

Its just bolted to the adjusting plates on the roof rack, using nyloc nuts. I tack welded the heads to the plates
Not going anywhere in a hurry, so feel free
The rear reflector yeah well I think the jury is out on that one, not sure how efficient it is with the rack fitted
but they look cool. lol

I had one on my 2004 GU and i thought it worked a bit - at least i noticed it get a lot more dust on the back door after it got ripped off under a tree. :icon_bonk:
But perhaps that was a bit more dusty cause i was going to cape york ....:icon_victory:
Perhaps we will stick with "they look cool" lol - cause i think they do add to the looks - especially when they match the dark tinted windows .....

Hey Jack,
With the catch can on your mates GU re the leak, did he have a check valve in the line to stop the back pressure.
I did see somewhere one should be added, not sure where thou.
If someone can shed any light on the check valve, please share.

Nope i dont think so - no check valve - but i will ask. Hes since had the rear main seal repaired and fitted a catch can like mine - but just straight without baffles.
He saw mine on the weekend and offer me a carton to put a baffle is his.
So hes coming around sat and ill put a baffle in for him - hopefully get it finished before i finish the carton lol

Cleaned the intake system today before my 5k interval oil change
Put the full can of the liqui moly EGR cleaner through the system as per the instructions.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrpxoxYmPsc
Certainly blew a bit of black smoke out the exhaust, and had a very strong odor.
Ive been a bit skeptical it would make any difference to performance so before i did it I used by DashComd app and time the 0-100 times.
Frankly if i hand not time it i would have believed it, but im getting 2 seconds quicker of the 0-100 - i feel it has a noticeable quicker pick up off this line.
So with the EGR blocked, catch can fitted and the cleaner put through im feeling a bit better now knowing it should be nice an clean now for a while....
I injected the cleaner on both side of the intercooler (1/2 can each side)

Bought myself an awning this week - really wanted the fox wing, but alas the budget and our upcoming trip to Fraser dictated i needed to swallow the pill and purchase the eBay special.
Got a 2.5 x 3.0
Fitted up nice

I am happy as i can be without pulling it all apart and doing a visual inspection. What i could see - it did a good job cleaning out the reside from the pipes.
I bought it from ...
http://gcg.com.au/workshop/engine-care/liqui-moly-pro-line-diesel-intake-system-cleaner-400ml-detail
Having blocked the EGR i wanted to do something to clean out the intake, but didnt want to go as far as pulling it all apart.
There is a few YouTube videos of it showing some good results.
In any case, i don't it hurts to do it.
I did notice an improvement in pickup - I am sure some will be skeptical of that, but I am happy.
