Hey guys,

I did the oil pressure test on my RB30 Patrol today.
Result is in this video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VowEkfTU8DA&feature=youtu.be

Engine is cold idling. The oil is 10/30 atm(though I usually put 20/50).
The tester is connected to a sandwich plate that I fixed on to the oil filter for future mods.
There's a very slight flickering as you can see. It stays around 30psi & only slightly go up when I rev quickly. I didn't do the test on warm engine or high revs.
vehicle's got 350k on the clock.

What is your opinion? Does the reading look ok? Slight flicker is not a problem?

The tester is brand new. So, I presume it's very accurate.

Thanx

no1 sandwich plates are shit, connect the gauge to the port the std dash sender attaches to, 0psi at idle is fine, it shout increas with revs, the old rule of thumb is 10psi of oil pressure
per 1000rpm. and 10/30 is too thin for a 20 year old engine

Yeah, it's bit of a pain in the arse to take off the sender again and attach the tester hose to that hole. :)
But, I guess I better do it that way. Vehicle is 25 years old.
