Doing a twin pot upgrade and I am reconditioning the calipers and have mixed up the slider frames when painting. I think the term is correct but the frame I am referring to is the bit that the pads fit in.

The questions.
On the drivers side does the slider frame have the pin whose rubber boot goes all the way through the frame at the top or bottom when mounted?

Does the caliper when mounted have the bleeder at the top or bottom when mounted?

Bleeder should always be at the top mate.

Can you take a pic showing the right caliper up the other way so the inside of the caliper is showing?
I still need to work out which slide belongs to which caliper.

Answer: the pin with the rubber boot that goes through the frame is mounted on the opposite end to the bleeder, the bleeder is top most when on the vehicle.

They must be different to the gu ones as the gu ones look reversible http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2015/10/391.jpg

Here is a link to a gq twin reco.

You can see one slide pin comes all the way through the frame where the black round end of it is visible.

Just waiting on the shims, bolts and discs to arrive now. Hopefully this will give me a bit better braking with the van on the back.

How's the conversion going or did you sell it in the end?

Conversion is perfect, at Easter went Sydney- port MacDonald SA and all the way round the coast via the great ocean road to Wollongong then back to Sydney with the van in tow without an issue , absolutely perfect towing machine except for a few moments under brakes, hence the upgrade. Was looking at a ranger as we intend to go around the block at some stage and LPG availability is not going to cut it.

Rangers have a few problems.
oil pump is one, and that's major in anyone's book.
you have your bus near perfect, why start again.

Installed them last weekend with dimpled and slotted disc's, needs another bleed though. The bolts in my single pot calipers appear identical to the new ones, anyone know why the forums recommend new bolts, I assumed because they were different.

The bolts for the twin piston calipers should be shorter.
