How do you62226 removing the gearbox front input bearing without stripping the gearbox.
While it's still in the car ??.

Engine's out.
G/box front cover off.

It would appear you can't.
looks like whole shaft need to be removed and bearing then pressed off then new one back on.
Or can you get puller into snap ring grove and remove that way with it still in the case, wouldn't think grove would be wide enough.
but how do ya then get new bearing on without damaging anything?

Use the old bearing to press the new one in,
only use the outer rim of the bearing never hit the middle collar

I was kinda "Given" the idea that ya can replace the bearing while shaft was still in the case.

The bearing is free to move forward about 4mm in the case (with the front cover removed).
It seem to be pressed onto the shaft, so load is on the inner rim.
and manuals showing remove via a press once shaft is remove from case.
Try to install with pressure via the outer rim will only damage a new bearing in this instance.

In pic its the large sealed bearing in question.
It would seem ya can't replace it without major effort, or am I wrong?.
