There is normally more than 1 plate and on it will be the month and year of manufacturer.

There should be an alloy plate on the radiator support panel, it will have month and year of manufacture

As TD said.

The tenth digit is interesting. All the info I can come up with says that if digit 10 is Y, DOM is 2000. it would be logical that digit 10 being Z would be 2001, but all the info I can find says 2001 manufactured has 1 as digit 10.

W 1998
X 1999
Y 2000
1 2001
2 2002

Should be an aluminium strip about the length / width of your little finger on the passenger side ( near the middle) of the vehicle where the radiator bolts up to and where the bonnet latches on to when the bonnet is up. Not all that far from the radiator cap. It should have some thing similar to Built JUN 2001. I`m not good on directions, but I know where I mean ha ha ha.

It is a 2001, registered here in Rep of Panama! I think it was manufactured in Hungary according to a friend in Japan who has done some research on it for me.

My best guess it's a 1999 built vehicle based on the last 6 digits.

Is there a plate in the left hand side front door jam just below the striker?

CVool where on earth did you find that?

I have a international VIN Decoder, that gives more than just regular info.
The mileage readings are not always accurate, and a couple of times the vehicle colour has been wrong.
I have had the odd vehicle that I haven't been able to get info on, so I guess you were fortunate that I was able to help.

As far as the colour of your undies goes, as Threedogs mentioned, I cant access that info, but at a guess I would say a dark colour .
