Hi.
I'm Mark and I live in Zimbabwe. I've recently had my GR Y61 RD28 Ti overhauled and now have quite a bad diesel knock. The engine is making a terrible knocking sound once the accelerator is pressed and a lot of black smoke pouring out the exhaust as well as lack of power and huge fuel consumption.

The injectors have been checked and cleaned 3 times and the pressures lowered but the problem persists.

A diagnostic test has been done today and it shows a problem with the fuel lift sensor which supposedly means fuel is not being regulated properly.

Can anyone help with where I would locate this sensor or give me any a dive on sorting out this problem?

Many thanks
Mark

G'day Mark and welcome to the forum. You might like to go to introductions and post an intro there mate. As to your problem - yes it sounds like overfueling and I am sure that someone with more diesel knowlege will be able to help you.
