Hi guys, I've have a slight problem with my GQ changing gears. It has a near new clutch in it, but it is difficult changing gears, reverse is really hard to select, worse when warm. The friction point is very close to the floor when realising, and about half way out the peddle there is nothing there at all. Thought it's might have air in the line so I bleed it yesterday, worked better straight up, took it for a 20 min drive worked okay. Came out a couple hours later and went to drive it, now it's a worse then originally. Can't even pull up or get it into 1st or reverse when stopped. Not using any fuild either.

sounds like air in the line. are all the fittings tight? if you have bleed the line and it worked great then some time later it is stuffed again then it defiantly sounds like air in the pipe.

As blocko05 said, sounds like air in the lines, but could also be fluid leaking around the seals in the master cylinder.

Had another go at bleeding it again with no luck same out come. A mate seems to think there is an issue with the booster behind the master cylinder. Doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the vacuum. So I've got on patrol a part and ordered a new booster, master cylinder, line and slave cylinder. Thinking it won't hurt to replace all that anyway.

If it were the booster then it should be the same all the time, before and after you bleed it.
recon you have an hydraulic problem.

Sounds like air in the line mate, some GQ's are a PITA to bleed properly. Have you tried bleeding at the bleed point next to your fuel filter? Thats where the air could be trapped and causing your dramas...

Also check for any freeplay in the clutch pedal itself before it starts to engage the master cylinder, just a few mm's can start to mess things up.
