I need a new intercooler for my 2009 CRD, as it's leaking.
I've read a few older threads on intercoolers, but couldn't find any reference to this one:

anyone tried one of these?

Hi Andrew. Look up Diesel smart intercoolers mate. I had one of them on my 2009 crd. About $400 exchange, tig welded ends. Great unit.

And I guess you don't belive a chev badge gives a holden 15kw extra at the wheels......... 😆
It looks ok but probably no different to the stock unit.. if your happy with the current setup leave it.
Unfortunately I doubt you'll get anything extra out of this unit..

Hiya Cobber,
Dunno 'bout the Holdens but the Chev badge on my Patrol does...:devilred:
When assessing Ebay adverts I use the principle "If it sounds like bullshit, looks like bullshit and smells like bullshit be prepared to have to bury it in the Garden"

I would stay clear it's not even pressure tested, I do remember
a while back ppl saying there were cheap end tanks being used on some IC's
Stick with Diesel smart at least you get a quality IC slightly larger than
what you have now so its a win win IMO, and a warranty +++++

I have the diesel smart monster cooler on mine, seems to be well made, after 2 years no problems.

If its $400, I'll defiantly go for that. I had been quoted $550-600 around locally, and I couldn't get much info on how good they were at that price.
I definatly don't beleave the bit about that ebay one being 75% better.
But I'm not really looking for an upgrade, just fix my leaking one. I like the fact the Diesel Smart ones use original end tanks, and thus look original.
Thanks for the replies, I'll let you know how I go
