Just A Troll

Howdy all.
Second time round for a Patrol. First time was a GQ (87 plate, 4.2 diesel), this time is ... another GQ (97 plate, 2.8 turbo diesel). Guess we never learn. The first was lifted but the current incarnation isn't, and probably won't be. Liking it so far, but it looks like (according to the NRMA bloke who checked the box-on-wheels over for us) the turbo is on the way out, so that's a priority. It's leaky (the turbo) and he reckons that the whistle is not right. Might need to get a turbo joint to take a look 'cause I've never heard one running properly to compare against.
Everything else seems good though and only 180K on the clock. No remote for the Warn winch so I've got to make up one (or eBay it). Ancient aircraft-landing-light-style spotties, so they'll turn into a LED bar I guess. They work fine but boy do they load the engine down. Needs a snorkel too. Roof hardware, drawers, etc ;)
We tried a Honda CR-V - comfortable, soft road AWD; it suited at the time. Then we had a go at a Daihatsu Terios - a capable 4WD when handled properly, but jeez they're small and bloody uncomfortable!
It's good to be back in something decent again.:smiley_thumbs_up:
