Has anybody had any experience with the Enerdrive Voltage Sensing Relay?
There's one on Ebay here (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/291392450480?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT):
It looks pretty good on paper. I particularly like the dual battery sensing concept.
And its a pretty good price compared with some of the others on the market.

I have used some Enerdrive stuff but not their VSR. Possible ET or Cuppa might see this later and know more about them.

Never used anything of that make so can't comment on teh quality.

A VSR is a VSR is a VSR... and $60 is 1/2 the price of the equivalent Redarc dual sensing VSRs and top of the Wozza stuff like, Intervolt etc are even more expensive .

Price is very attractive and probably be fine for a reccy user... but it must be cheaper for a reason.

Their Solar Controllers look very much like rebadged Morningstar to me.

Don’t personally know about Enerdrive’s VSR, but they sell a battery monitor which is a re-badged Xantrex & very well thought of.

You’ll note however that the blue VSR in the link does not have Enerdrive written on it. Nor do it’s specs state how many amps it can handle. It’s decription is poor using both the term ‘Dual Sensing’ & Dual Voltage Sensing relay’. I don’t really know what exactly it is & wouldn’t buy it myself.

The Enerdrive units I know of are black & cost a little more but are good value at $79.95. They are also dual sensing which is particularly useful if planning to have some solar input as it allows the solar to charge both batteries, just as the alternator does. I think the equivalent dual sensing redarc unit (SBI12D) is more than double the price. I could see no mention of the blue one on Enerdrive’s web site , but would happily buy the black Enerdrive one. The Black one is a re-badged BEP unit. http://enerdrive.com.au/product/140a-voltage-sensitive-relay/

Disclaimer: The link here to the black enerdrive unit on ebay is to a seller who has been in the business for many many years & who knows his stuff (he used to have a bricks & mortar shop selling this sort of stuff, & also used to build motorhomes). He’s an old friend of mine & I am confident he would only be selling gear in which he has a high level of confidence.

EDIT: Some more about the Vigil VSR here. http://www.marinewarehouse.com.au/vigil Rated at 135 amps & it is dual sensing. I would still prefer the lower cut in voltage of the Enerdrive unit though (which at 13.3v is similar to Redarc’s 13.2v). Less likely to be issues arising when running appliances a (e.g. fridge/freezer) & solar charging. Even if not planning to have solar at this point it makes sense to allow for it down the track. With the higher cut in voltage you could potentially see batteries being less well charged when running a fridge or other appliances.

Sounds to me like Enerdrive are a professional re-badging company...
At least they have chosen reasonable quality gear tho

Yep, I reckon that’s about right.

Oops, I stated Enerdrive in my original post, but I meant Vigil as shown in the Ebay link.
I was searching for Enerdrive when I found this one and must have had one of those 'senior moments'.
Thanks all for you input. Much appreciated.
I think I will be going with the Enerdrive unit.
