When i made my rear bar i fitted some cheap led lights for indicators but they are very dull and can hardly see them.

They are just spliced off the rear indicators. .. what am i missing?

Have they always been like that? How bright are they if you hook them straight to the battery?

If they are connected straight to a battery they are fine.

You have a bad joint somewhere

What if you connect the positive to your rear indicator and negative to the battery?

I tried earthing too the chassis but no difference..

Been there done that... Thailand, 1984, very scary...

If the LED's are fine when they are across 12 volts and not in circuit then there must indeed be a resistance.
It may be in the supply or it may be in the earthing of the LEDs/rear bar.

If you can get at the LEDs I would try 12 volts direct to LED power if that is bright then the return is OK and the problem is in the power
If that is dim then the problem is in the earth return from the LED/Bar to vehicle

Sooo... power direct to LED using existing return is good but power via indicator splice is bad?

Where did you splice in, Trailer plug or loom at the lights?

If you need constant 12 volts for fault finding use a parker feed instaed of the indicator feed.
Heaps easier to use a multimeter then

I am not 100% sure as it was some time ago... might be off the trailer loom?

After lunch I will have a better look.

No worries... trailer looms can be notorious for 'weird' issues.

Just work thru logically
Bypass earth good/bad
Bypass power good/bad
Bypass loom good/bad
You'll narrow it down pretty quickly

I managed to conduct a quick test and earth is not the problem but power..

Tomorrow I will go about sorting it but on a quick test I put power to the lights and they are very bright and playing with the earth made no difference to the brightness only when I added power did they really get bright.

Oh the joy !!!
