Went on a steep up hill track last weekend
When going up the steepest part an alarm from the auto sounded 3 times and twice within 1 minute.
The alarm sound is similar to an aeroplane fasten seat belt but 3 short sounds.
My question what is this, an alarm for auto or a angel warning?

I haven't experienced that with mine.
An alarm will sound if you haven't got the handbrake fully off and you reach a certain speed.

Unless it's some sort of temp sensor alarm?
I know that my auto heats up pretty quick if you are working it hard. Driving up something in high range when you should be in low does it as well.

My gu auto doesn't have any standard alarms and I don't believe they came with any to my knowledge, so possible aftermarket alarm or sensor as suggested.
How did you know it was the alarm for the auto gearbox? Possibly something else maybe? Do you have photos of it?

Not a 'door open' or 'key alarm' or 'head lights on' alarm is it?
Not familiar with the GU8 suite of 'useless and totally irritating alarms' myself but...
If it is a really gnarly track sometimes the body flexs enough to allow a door switch to think a door is open and usually the last thing you look at is the door ajar warning lamp or notice the interior light flicker

It was a defiant alarm from the console in front of the auto shift and sounded from under it.
Only a short trip of about 5 minutes up a very steep hill, not to rutted to give flex to think it is a door open.
Engine temp perfect and everything else perfect, no over head auto dash light.
No hand brake on or anything like that.
Might have to contact Nissan.
I have to take it in as it has a shitty vibration rattle from the front breaks when applying them and a lot worse on long down hills.

I did some long steep inclines today. In some places I had to stop and wait while the vehicles in front cleared the obstacles. I didn't get any alarms sounding.
Have you check the auto fluid?. Let us know what Nissan say.

Just went over the manual again for the 5th time and what do you know.
The factory rear locker has a chime when the vehicle exceeds 20km/h, i think the rear wheel were spinning as it was the steepest part of the hill when it came on.
Don't have very good tyres yet so this makes sense.
