Picked this up from Melbourne 2 weeks ago, out of Pickles. (brought it sight unseen, apart from photos) 2009 model with 170,000km on it. Drove it back to Sydney on a Permit.
been wanting to put some pics up for a while, but needed a semi-decent back drop, finally took some while out on a job today.
really happy with it, apart from a difficult 4th gear when cold.
only mods I have done so far is removed the ladder racks, fitted the "mine bar" with the LED work lights and squarker style reversing alarm in place of the beeper. Also have installed a Pioneer double din head unit with Bluetooth, haven't hooked the reverse camera up to it yet.
slightly disappointed the all the electrics where striped out of the body, including the hot water sink, but as a bonus, I got all the keys and a full service history and 6 really good tyres, so I'm very happy.
Fuel economy isn't flash, got 6km per L last refill, and I only did about 100km of towing in that tank. It is heavy with all my tools in though!

nice mate, looks good. I used to have a GQ with a couple of sticky gears when cold, I put in a tube of Nulon G70 (I think that's what it was called, white tube with black writing got if from supercheap) and some fresh oil and it went away, might be worth a try

Believe it or not that's exactally what I did, along with fresh oil, only been about a week, but is slowly getting better, I got told it might take a few weeks. How long did it take in yours? No idea how old the clutch is, so hoping to keep it going until the box needs to come out anyway.

Looks good (when I turn my laptop upside down!). What plans do you have for it?

What motor does it have, might clean the maf as part of recovering some repsecticle fuel figures
Your fuel figures are 17ltr per 100 ks approx

If I click on the pic it opens up larger. If I click again it turns it up the right way. I dunno. Nice looking ute BTW.

If its the 2009 then it is the common rail motor. No more td42's in that era.

Thanks guys, yeah it's a 3L CRD as Rock Trol said. Would love a 4.2, but needed something a bit newer.
It is super clean, it has a dent in the LH sill.
Main plans for mods are work related, happy it already has a Snorkel, Warn winch, bull bar and IPF lights. Also has uorated rear suspension with readable shackles, don't think that is standard?
I've added the "mine bar" to the roof with work lights and flashing LED for breakdowns and construction site access.
I've also put a Uniden 8080S UHF in it.
Definitely doing central locking and cruise control. Maybe power windows? Has anyone done that to a DX, is the loom there?
Will also add dual batteries with jump start plugs, 12 and 24 volt.
Need some lights in the back too!

Very tidy rig Andrew. These Telstra rigs with the pods are great buys. Looking forward to the mods you make to it.

where did you buy that from?
there is a few different kits on ebay for around the $700 mark
I'm also keen to rip a genuine kit out of a wagon from the wreakers, anyone tried that?
