G'day,
Just wondering about this special offer from ARB. One air locker for $995 or air locker, compressor and pump up kit for $1195.
I think fitting would be like $500 more but besides that this seems to be a pretty good deal.
looking for feedback from those that have used or currently have this system fitted.
Thanks
Paul

You'll never look back!
Everything is easier and boring and you'll find yourself stepping up a whole new level trying to find more challenging tracks.
You will begin to crawl up tracks where previously needed to flog your car in 2nd needing momentum.
That's a good price mate, get it for the front and you will love it!

Best $ I have spent on my grenade Patrol. I will be taking advantage of this on the 4.2 as well no questions asked.
My quote was just under $1400 fitted with this offer. The grenade patrol was just under $1600 fitted. So, unless there is less labour / difference in the 3L patrol front diff. vs. the 4.2 front diff, then there is about $150-200 off.

Well for those interested, ARB are charging $495 to install the air lockers and $200 to install the compressor. Which brings the total cost to $1890.

Well done Winnie. I think I'll still go the e- locker at $2140 fitted. Probably why ARB are doing specials because of growing compettion in market place from the e-locker.

I got an email from ARB today saying they will be dropping the regular list price on their locker range by $100.

Chabba, are there any advantages of the e-locker over the air locker?

I got mine installed for $2700 but that was with new bearings a custom compressor mount under the bonnet and a air outlet under the rear wheel carrier and fix my flares where i tore the rear ones loose after hitting a sand dune a bit too hard :)

The actuating mechanism is instantaneous , there is no air lines or compressor to deal with. Eliminates moisture in the system. The eaton harrpo group make a strong reliable unit. Now you can't say that the ARBs are not strong and reliable because the are. So I suppose for me I like the no fuss actuation of the e-locker. Is that worth the extra 250 odd dollars at the moment? Well that's up to you. Without the ARBs special the two prices are fairly close anyway so if choice is about $$$ then jump in now. But I think that the air locker will over time loose favour in the market place to the e-locker. IMHO.

I like the idea of having a compressed air supply available to reinflate tyres and use that dreaded rattle gun for repairs (if required). But what moisture in the system are you talking about?

Moisture from the air enters the lines via the compressor and can cause problems. This would require the lines to be dried out for the locker to work. Happens to a mate with a Prado on a regular basis. Every trip its like, will his arb locker work this time or not.
How much moisture depends on the day. If you start your compressor on a humid day its almost like a spray gun.
