Gooday everyone. I've used enough info off this site, (thank you for the awesome posts) so it's time I joined. My beloved '89 GQ ute died last year, motor and body. I've been suffering separation issues and could not bring myself to sell her. I'd spent heaps on it, replacing stuffed bits with new ones, where possible. It was a completely self-sufficient camper/firewood collector/work ute/spare bed/preferred means of transport.

I have just bought another one and have begun transferring the good gear over. It might be time to add that I have very little mechanical aptitude (none). Today I attempted to exchange the exhaust systems.....What a job!!! 3 studs were snapped in the new car, then I managed another one. Then I snapped an 'ezi-out' in one, after getting 2 out. I'm off tomorrow to get some help welding a nut over the studs. Thank you again for the invaluable forums.

I have already learnt heaps from this site and foresee myself asking many questions as I endeavour to re-build my relationship/ute.

Cheers

G'day and welcome.

you can also get "stud removers" I use them all the time, but I'm guessing you've snapped the studs off flush?
