Ok so I put a 3" stainless exhaust on my crd about a month ago and it seems like it is blowing a bit of black smoke. That is the only mod it's had. None of the nads. Also I changed the oil and filters a week ago and hasn't improved smoke. Not smoking all the time though. When it gets a little rev before its warm and also smoked quite a bit when I gave it a boot full in the mud on the weekend. Anyone know if/why the exhaust has caused this? And how I can fix it without spending any/very little money?

Does the new exhaust have a catalytic converter on it like the OEM? Some aftermarket exhausts don't have them or they are not as effective as the OEM.

Prob unburnt fuel, mine will do that when giving it the boot. I also had my chip wound up and fitted a 3" but didn't turn it down and at the top of hill after giving it a bit to get up the camper trailer smelt like diesel and the stone guard was a little wet..

I suspect high flow cat means very little. Just there to meet the regulations.

Hi, i'd say get it on a dyno and air fuel ratio adjusted.

What boost are you running if you know.
Also check to see all small vacume hoses are intact and in place

No manual valves or boost gauge as yet so what ever they produce standard.
